This XL Bird of Paradis plant is  growing in a 10" pot and it is approximately 4' tall.
The Bird of Paradise is an easy-going plant, it thrives in bright indirect light to full sun when acclimated. Not suited for low light conditions. 
Water every 1-2 weeks, allowing soil to dry out between waterings. Expect to water more often in brighter light and less often in lower light.
The growers pot (10") will be covered with a lined woven basket.  
Pro tip 1: Birds of Paradise can benefit from filtered water or water left out overnight before using.
Pro Tip 2: If you notice that your Bird of Paradise is exhibiting lots of splits and frays in its leaves, you can relax: this is completely normal. The split foliage does not mean you're doing anything wrong! It's a trait of the plant that evolved in nature.
